7 Aloe Vera masks for Glowing Skin

The aloe vera plant may not be much to look at, and its spines may be downright threatening, but it’s not what’s on the outside that counts… it’s what’s on the inside. The aloe plant’s fleshy leaves contain a gel that is packed with nutrients, active enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It’s no wonder that aloe vera gel has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of skin ailments and conditions.
But other than applying it directly to your skin, how can you reap the benefits of the aloe vera plant? We have created seven aloe vera face mask recipes that harness the power of this well-known plant. Flawless skin, here we come!

    3. Stir gently until ingredients are mixed.
    4. Spoon in 2 tablespoons of shea butter.
    5. Mix well.
Note: If the shea butter refuses to dissolve (because of room temperature), microwave for five seconds and stir again. Repeat step six until shea butter completely dissolves.

    HOW TO APPLY:

  • Brown Sugar & Aloe Vera Face Mask

    THIS MASK IS GREAT FOR:
  • Removing dead skin, dust, and dirt
  • Dissolving excess oils

    • Aloe vera gel

    HOW TO APPLY:
    1. Start by washing your face and neck with warm water and an oil-free cleanser to remove makeup and open pores.
    2. Apply the liquid to your skin with your fingers.
    3. Then, gently massage your skin using small circular motions for five minutes.

Basil & Aloe Vera Face Mask

    THIS MASK IS GREAT FOR:
  • Killing germs
  • Preventing breakouts
  • Moisturizing
  • Toning tired skin

  • INGREDIENTS:
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Basil
  • Indian lilac (optional)

  • RECIPE:
  • For this recipe, you need to grind a handful of basil and a handful of lilac before mixing. If you can buy the leaves pre-ground, that would be great. The easiest way to do it yourself is to use a mortar and pestle. If you don’t have those tools, place the leaves on the palm of your hand, and press and rub with your thumb using twisting motions. This helps to release the essential oils inside the leaves.
  • Place the ground leaves in a mixing bowl and a 1 tablespoon of water.
  • Stir until the water is gone.
  • Pour in 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel.
  • Mix until the gel covers all the leaf matter.

  • HOW TO APPLY:
  • Start by washing your face and neck with warm water and an oil-free cleanser to remove makeup and open pores.
  • Spread the aloe vera gel, leaves and all, onto the skin of your face, neck, and décolleté.
  • Let the mask dry for fifteen minutes. Keep an eye on your surroundings as the leaves may have a tendency to fall your face as the aloe dries.
  • Rinse your face, first with lukewarm water, and then with cool water to tighten pores.
  • Dry your skin with a soft towel.

  • As great as aloe vera masks are for helping your achieve smooth, wrinkle-free, glowing skin, sometimes you want something more powerful...and that doesn’t require that dishes be done afterward. That’s where the silicone skin patch comes in.
